What do “best weather” and “busiest” mean?

Best weather names a top-scoring month for that region’s weather; other months can tie. It is not an Overall “best time to go”: crowds, prices and what you want to do still matter.

Busiest month has the highest average number of overnight visitors per night in the region’s historical year. Steady all year means that nightly average is less than twice as high in the busiest month as in the quietest. Neither measures queues at individual sights. Regions can include several cities, coastlines or mountain areas with different conditions.

These are historical patterns, not forecasts or live visitor counts.
